I am a Fellow in the Resources, Environment and Development Program at the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy and a Research Fellow at the ANU Institute for Water Futures. I am also Director of the Centre for Water Economics, Environment and Policy at the Crawford School.
My applied research in environmental and resource economics examines how societies allocate water across uses, users, geographies, and time. I am currently working with the Water Justice Hub on the economics of drinking water services in regional and remote Australia.
Previously, I was a Research Fellow at the ANU Centre for Climate and Energy Policy, General Manager of the Food Energy Environment Water Network, and Managing Editor of the Global Water Forum. I have also worked as a consultant on environmental management in the Lower Mekong Basin and as a groundwater technician in the West Australian mining industry.
